Meet the Staff!

Dr. Carolyn LoveDr. Carolyn Love, DVM

I am a 1986 graduate of Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. My passion is Chinese medicine to include Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs. I also enjoy nutritional medicine, soft tissue surgery, and internal western medicine for dogs, cats, birds, and small exotic animals.

I opened Love Pet Hospital in 1994. My mission was to "provide high-quality veterinary care with the kindness and compassion we would treat our own pets and friends."

I am a member of the following organizations; AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association), TVMA (Texas Veterinary Medical Association), CAVMA (Capital Area Veterinary Medical Association), AAV (Association of Avian Vets), IVAS (International Veterinary Acupuncture Society), and American Veterinary Chiropractic Association.

My four "kids" include; 2 Lab rescue dogs from the pound "Arjuna" and "Shanti", One Abby cat named "Ra", and one Eclectus Parrot named "Rama."

I am keenly aware of the human-animal companion bond. Most of my clients treat their pets as their own children. You will see by reading the short biographies below, that myself and my staff feel the same way.

I have recently completed the certification course for Animal Chiropractic. The course was located in Dallas at Parker Chiropractic, which is one of three accredited Animal Chiropractic schools in the country. The course took six months to complete. The Animal Chiropractic course is open only to graduate Veterinarians and Chiropractors. Chiropractic works well on its own or in combination with Acupuncture.

We honor that bond, and treat our patients with the gentle kindness they deserve.

Dr, Geoffrey WisbrockDr. Geoffrey Wisbrock, DVM

Hi, my name is Geoff. I'm one of the veterinarians here at Love Pet Hospital. I am a graduate of the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine.

I find the challenges of medicine and surgery to be exciting and fun. I love getting to meet our clients and learning about your pet's unique personality and history.

When I am not at work I spend time with my own pets. I have a dog named Jake, and two cats (Bender and Geech). They all keep me on my toes! In those few moments of truly free time, I love being in the outdoors and jogging with my dog. I also enjoy a variety of sports, painting, photography, eating, and sleeping!

Thanks for taking the time to explore our website!

BarbaraBarbara

I've worked at Love Pet Hospital on Saturdays since it opened in 1994. My other job is with the Austin Fire Department, where I've worked for fifteen years. I completed a degree in Social Psychology in 1996, but my true passion is working with animals. My love for animals was so strong, that I decided eight years ago to become a vegetarian.

I never grow tired of animals, mine or anyone else's. I love talking with folks about their animals and sharing general information about pet care, health concerns, and behavior

"Nika" is one of my special babies. She's a four-and-a-half-year-old Pomeranian. I was there when she took her first breath, so we share a special bond. Nika is physically-challenged due to partial paralysis and a few other problems. But her mind is sharp! Although she requires special care, I am forever grateful that she has become a part of my world. I can't imagine how lonely life would be without our animal companions!

CherylCheryl

Hello my name is Cheryl. I come to Love Pet Hospital from San Antonio. I am a native of San Antonio, where I gained five years of experience working as a Veterinary Technician at Town and Country Animal Hospital. I moved to Austin in late March 2004. I am the proud owner of a three-legged loveable Pit Bull mix named Dakota and a housecat named Momma Kitty. Dakota lost her leg to an aggressive cancer, which puts me in a unique position to provide a little perspective to pet owners going through difficult times with their pets. Having been through the best and worst of times with Dakota, she enjoys being a calming part of the lives of pet owners and their animals.

I feel I must also give special mention to Buddy, the wonderful cat who figured out how to use my cat door and visits often. In my spae time I love spending time with my daughter Krysten. I enjoy reading, watching movies, and outdoor activities.

My current housemates are a Chinese Pug named Mister Qi, and an English Bulldog named Buddha, two rescue kitties, and an Argentinean Horned frog and a Burmese Python (plus a Guinea fowl and a Peahen) complete the menagerie. In addition to my wonderful mornings at LPH, I also maintain a practice as a Reiki master and teacher.

AmberAmber

Hello, my name is Amber Mcleod and I am one of the receptionists at Love Pet Hospital. I am a native to Austin and love it very much. I spent most of my childhood living next door to my Grandfather's vet clinic. I loved going over to visit the animals and always found pleasure being with the furry and feathered friends. Now I have the perfect job where I spend time with the two things I like most....people and Animals.

My favorite friend is my kitten Picasso. A beautiful mix between a Siamese and a Himalayan breed with bright blue eyes. He is my little buddy and is always by my side.

When I am not working I am spending time with family and friends. I enjoy art, music, theatre, dancing, cooking, and writing. My goal is to bring as much peace and happiness as I can during my time on earth. So be kind to a stranger. Thank you! Hope to see you soon!
